This half-sphere opal cabochon sits above its setting like a mystic orb, full of color and intrigue.  The stone is a rich honey tone, with strong patch and chaff play-of-color in reds, oranges, and greens, though at just the right angle there's an elusive hint of blue.  The vintage 1970s setting is a unique twisted-rope lattice in a scale-like pattern, and the opal is held in a fancy gallery bezel.  The ring shows signs of wear from a life well lived, but she is no less beautiful for it.
